About Us: Financial Aid

Financial Aid IS Available!

Elizabethtown College has established Accelerated 5-Week Sessions in a format that enables MATRICULATED students to maintain eligibility for Federal and State financial aid. Matriculated students enrolled in Accelerated 5-Week Sessions MAY be eligible to receive the following types of financial aid: Federal Pell Grant, Federal SEOG Grant, PHEAA Grant, and/or Federal Stafford Loan.

Since financial aid will be calculated based upon actual registered credits, it is imperative for students to plan ahead and register for all semester credits early on in the process. In order to determine a student's specific financial aid eligibility, the following forms must be submitted:

  • Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) (www.fafsa.ed.gov);
  • Elizabethtown College Financial Aid Application;
  • Employer Educational Assistance Verification Form; and
  • Federal Tax Return

Forms are available from your admissions counselor or from the Continuing Education offices. The Financial Aid Office verifies the income data for 100% of its aid applicants. Please contact the Financial Aid Office concerning any questions on this process.

Enrollment Level Needed to Receive Financial Aid

Most financial aid programs require AT LEAST HALF-TIME (6 credits) enrollment per semester. Since the Accelerated Sessions differ in that three 5-week "mini-terms" comprise a semester, the determination of half-time status is also different. Enrollment levels will be determined by combining the credits taken in three separate 5-week sessions. The Fall semester is comprised of F1, F2, F3 and the Spring semester includes S1, S2, S3. The Financial Aid office will add all credits attempted during the three 5-week sessions to calculate a student's projected enrollment level for that term. For example, a student who is taking 3 credits in F1, 0 credits in F2, and 3 credits in F3 will be considered HALF-TIME because he/she has a combined total of 6 credits for the Fall semester.
