| IDC 378 | Generational Differences: The Millennials Friday, July 30 from 6 - 10 pm This three-credit weekend intensive course will examine Generational Differences. As America's largest population block to date, The Millennials -- the American generation born between 1980 and 2000 - are poised to become the dominant social force in the decade to come. In this class, we will examine tendencies across the four existing generations - The War Generation, The Baby Boomers, Generation X, and The Millennials - to discuss the broad historic and cultural influences that shaped them. We will then focus on the Millennials to examine the ways their tastes, beliefs, and worldview have begun to impact the workplace, the economy, technology, entertainment, education, relationships, fashion, and the country they're about to inherit. The learning experience will be enhanced by facilitator-led discussions and learning activities, a common set of readings and Blackboard interaction. With help from the facilitators, each learner self-directs further exploration through personalized outcomes and produces a customized research paper at the end of the course. This course can be used to meet any one of the following requirements:
