SCPS 2018 Commencement Keynote Speaker

The School of Continuing and Professional Studies is pleased to have Nancy Dering Mock ’76 as its 2018 Commencement Keynote Speaker. An Elizabethtown College graduate of the SCPS Excel Program, Mock will receive an honorary Doctor of Business Administration at the ceremony.

Mock, a principal in her own consulting practice, is an accomplished executive, entrepreneur and consultant with experience in private, public and independent sectors. She is recognized as an incisive strategist and trusted advisor in leadership, change and human capital management.

Mock was deputy secretary for human resources under Gov. Tom Ridge in 2000 and Gov. Edward G. Rendell in 2003. She also served as president-elect of the National Association of State Personnel Executives and is a recipient of NASPE’s Eugene Rooney Award for Leadership in Human Resources.

Mock was founder and president of The Dering Consulting Group, a respected team of organization development professionals and was an adjunct faculty member with H. John Heinz School of Public Policy and Management at Carnegie Mellon University.

She earned her bachelor’s degree from Elizabethtown College and her master’s degree from Temple University.
