2017 Commencement Graduate Student Speaker Spotlight

Stephen Glaus was chosen as the 2017 SCPS graduate student speaker. Glaus is a graduate of Elizabethtown Area High School and completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees through Elizabethtown College School of Continuing and Professional Studies. Upon graduating from high school, Glaus spent four years serving in the U.S. Army, flying unmanned drones. He was deployed to Iraq during his enlistment. Upon completing his term of military service, Glaus returned home and worked as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and an assistant manager for fire arms retailer Trop Gun Shop. He recently completed a yearlong tour of duty, flying unmanned drones in Afghanistan, as a civilian contractor with Northrop Grumman Corp. Upon returning home, Glaus completed his master’s degree in business administration and gained acceptance into the prestigious Presidential Management Fellows program, a federal development curriculum for recent master’s-level and doctoral graduates. Glaus accepted a position within the program, working for the FBI as a management and program analyst at its headquarters in Washington, D.C.

In Stephen’s speech he expressed his gratitude to the SCPS in helping him get to where he is today. He reminded his fellow graduates of what a great accomplishment they have reached and urged them to continue to do great things and take their time with E-town as the beginning of a new journey.
