2017 Excellence in Teaching Award

2017 Excellence in Teaching Award

Each year, an SCPS affiliated faculty member is chosen for the Excellence in Teaching Award. At a recent faculty dinner, it was announced that this year’s recipient is Steve McDaniel. Steve is retired from the Pennsylvania State Police. He is also an Elizabethtown SCPS Alumni with a degree in Criminal Justice and he graduated with his MBA from Eastern University.

Steve began teaching with SCPS in the spring semester of 2009. Since then he has taught over 36 courses in criminal justice, sociology, communications, and business administration both online and in the classroom. He was also instrumental in the training that SCPS provided for tteh PA State Police Bureau of Training and Education this year.

Peggy Rosario, Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs, describes three commitments that make Steve an outstanding facilitator. “First, Steve is dedicated to student learning; he is constantly exploring new ways to engage students. Second, he is committed to advancing students into the field of criminal justice. Finally, he is committed to a life of service and is happy to help SCPS outside of his facilitator role."

Congratulations to Steve for receiving the 2017 Excellence in Teaching Award!
