Make an impact in your community.

Make a positive impact in your community with a bachelor's degree in human services from The School of Continuing and Professional Studies. The human services major at Elizabethtown College is one of our most flexible adult degree programs—all of the major courses are offered online, while core and general electives are offered online, onsite or blended. A wide range of major electives allows you to personalize the program to your unique interests. For example, you might wish to expand your knowledge on marriage and family or learn more about the criminal justice system. Additionally, we offer a separate major, Human Services – Behavioral and Addictions Counseling—for those looking for a more specific area of human services.

Through your studies in our adult-friendly human services program you will gain an understanding of societal issues and case management processes and best practices. You also will be introduced to common scenarios and situations you are likely to encounter in the field and learn how to put theory into practice in order to handle these cases ethically, legally and professionally.

After you complete the accelerated degree program in human services you can immediately work in entry-level, non-licensed positions within an array of human services organizations, or continue to pursue an advanced degree in counseling or a similar field.
